Datum
Waypoint data is provided using the NAD83 or WGS84 datum. Your GPS must be set to this for the data to be accurate.
Text (txt) File Format
The waypoint data files in text (txt) document format contain comma delimited data. Each row contains the data for a single waypoint. From left to right the data elements are:
Waypoint name, e.g. 1, 2, 3 ...

Zone, e.g. 10S

Easting (meters), e.g. 731730

Northing (meters), e.g. 4317502

Elevation (feet)

Date

Time
The txt file will open in a blank window. Save this file to your hard drive for future use with TOPO!, other software or a GPS. Close the window when you are done.
GPS eXchange (gpx) File Format
The waypoint data files in GPS eXchange (gpx) format are XML files. The gpx file will open in a blank window using your default browser. Save this file to your hard drive for future use with TOPO!, other software or a GPS. Close the window when you are done.
